Today at Altnets, we embark on a journey of reflection as we proudly celebrate our third birthday. Join us in celebrating three years of continual innovation, unwavering dedication, and substantial growth as Altnets continues to evolve as an influential telecoms infrastructure specialist.
Our business emerged in 2020 with a mission to fill the gaps in the telecoms industry by supporting ISPs with their supply chain needs, offering everything from fibre cables to access chambers.
With over 100 years of combined experience, the Altnets team has not only increased in numbers, but also in influence within the sector. Our team’s commitment to excellence has been recognised through numerous award wins and nominations, including being named a finalist for The Growth Business of the Year Award at the Lloyds Bank British Business Excellence Awards 2023.
Earlier this year, we also secured the 35th position in the Elite Business 100 list of top UK SMEs. This was testament to our effective leadership, product innovation, outstanding customer service, and community dedication. We have also been named as a finalist three times at the 2023 SME National Business Awards.
Over the last three years, the Altnets team has also established impactful partnerships with leading global telecoms manufacturers, such as HellermannTyton in Britain and Fibrain in Poland. Our collaboration with the Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA) further solidifies our commitment to supporting the UK internet sector through innovation and experience. These partnerships have not only stimulated our growth but also created opportunities for shared development and mutual success, pushing Altnets into the spotlight as a key player in advancing the UK telecoms market.
At Altnets, we have experienced both financial and influential growth since our inception three years ago. This is all due to our remarkable team, who make Altnets what it is today. After a 50% increase in our workforce over the past year alone, we’ve welcomed new perspectives and skills that have helped us tackle the evolving demands of our sector.
Jade Edmonds, our Business Development Manager and one of our first employees, shares: “Three years ago, Altnets didn’t even have an ‘official’ office, and now we are a leading infrastructure specialist. I have been part of Altnets almost since day one and I have loved witnessing the rapid progression of the company and seeing how far we have come as a team.”

Our co-founders, Paul Britnell and Sam Bangle, are dedicated to innovating the telecoms sector and have plans to expand our reach, enhance our products, and diversify into new markets. Our commitment remains fixed on our aim to support the UK’s telecoms industry in achieving full-fibre coverage and accelerating the 5G network rollout.
