Ultra-Lightweight (ULW) aerial cable is designed for mid to long span aerial installations on poles. As a secondary application the ULW Fibre can also be installed underground in ducts. PIA approved with a tensile breaking force for maximum safety in overhead applications, less than 2000N. The cable is constructed from gel filled micromodules, overlaid with water swellable yarn and water blocking tape to eliminate water ingress, and encased in a high-density polyethylene sheath. Embedded Brass coated steel wire strength members protect against buckling. ULW cables use superior single-mode G657.A1 or A2 bend insensitive fibres as standard to ensure high performance, and further reassure network operators their systems are running efficiently.
