Altnets, which began as a three-person start-up in an unofficial workspace in Brighton, has now expanded into a nationally recognised company. We are thrilled to announce that Altnets has been officially named one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2025.

We are the only telecom provider in the UK to be included within the “Small Organisation” category, and one of only two Brighton-based businesses. We consider this to be more than just a badge of honour. It’s a time for celebrating our people, our culture, and everything we have accomplished together. It is an important message that prioritising people is the foundation of sustainable achievement and isn’t merely for morale. Brighton has long been regarded as a forward-thinking city where people and businesses thrive, so it’s no surprise that Brighton-based companies often feature in these national rankings. Being a part of that legacy and establishing a new benchmark in an industry renowned for its high-pressure demands makes us proud.

At Altnets, our superpower is our people. The telecom sector is fast-paced, fluctuating, and primarily male-dominated. We emphasise building a unique organisation where everyone, regardless of experience or position, feels appreciated, heard, and encouraged. We are dedicated to continually diversifying our workforce and are pleased to employ a larger proportion of women than the industry norm. We consciously seek to create an inclusive culture as we believe that our workplace should represent the communities we serve.

“We’re more than a company that serves people — we’re powered by our people. This award reflects the culture we’ve built together, and a reminder that when we take care of our team, the business takes care of itself,” said Sam Bangle, our Co-Founder and Director.

Everything we do strives to create an atmosphere where individuals can flourish, inside and outside the workplace. This includes our flexible working style, personal development opportunities, comprehensive healthcare packages, monthly socials, and annual team trip.

While our mission is to enhance digital connectivity for communities around the UK, we have never overlooked the significance of internal connections. The feeling of unity at Altnets is one of a kind; it has developed over time through mutual respect and a shared belief that the workplace should be an enjoyable place. This recognition from The Sunday Times, in partnership with workplace platform WorkL, is a huge milestone. Over 500 organisations across the country were assessed, but it’s the feedback from our very own team that secured our place on the list.
