Team Altnets completes the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge and raises an incredible £6,525 for GOSH!

After months of training, Team Altnets has officially completed the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge — smashing our fundraising target and raising £6,525 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

After months of training, early morning hikes, gym sessions and plenty of kilometres under our belts, Team Altnets has officially completed the London to Brighton Ultra Challenge - and what a weekend it was!

Back in January, the team set out with an ambitious goal to raise £5,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Children's Charity while taking on one of the UK's toughest endurance events. Thanks to the incredible support from friends, family, customers, partners and our wider community, we didn't just reach that target - we completely exceeded our expectations.

Together, Team Altnets has raised an incredible £6,525 (so far), reaching 130% of our original fundraising goal.

Every donation will help support the incredible work carried out by GOSH and contribute towards the development of the new Children's Cancer Centre, helping to fund pioneering research, improved facilities and life-changing care for children and families.

This challenge was especially meaningful for the team as we took it on in support of our colleague Will, his partner Hattie and their daughter Ada, who is currently undergoing treatment following a rare neuroblastoma diagnosis.

    Taking on the challenge

Challenge weekend arrived on 23–24 May and brought some difficult conditions with it. High temperatures throughout the weekend made an already demanding challenge even tougher, but the determination across the team never wavered.

Olly, Andy, Lizzie and Jordan completed the full 100km challenge in around 24 hours, an incredible achievement after months of preparation and determination.

Will reached an incredible 80km before a knee injury unfortunately prevented him from continuing. Paul and Sam completed the first half of the route, taking on a challenging 58km, while Cressey covered an impressive 31km on Sunday, pushing through difficult conditions before having to stop due to heat exhaustion.

Last, but certainly not least, our intern Krishan reached an impressive 20km, a huge personal milestone and a moment the whole team was incredibly proud of.

Despite the physical challenge, the heat and a few setbacks along the way, the determination and team spirit across the team never changed.

At Altnets, supporting causes that matter to our people has never been about ticking a box. It's about creating meaningful impact and showing up for the things that matter.

We couldn't be prouder of what the team achieved, not only in completing an incredibly demanding challenge, but in raising such an amazing amount for a cause that means so much to us all.

    A message from Will

After taking part in the challenge, Will said: "Seeing first-hand what the nurses and children at GOSH go through on a daily basis, I know that the money we've raised is going to an incredible hospital and will help towards the new cancer ward being built."

"As for my team at Altnets, I can't say enough about the camaraderie and focus we've found to get each other through such a hard challenge in extreme heat conditions. Altnets have been nothing but amazing since Ada started her journey and once again prove why they are a truly great company to work for. We are very lucky."

"To everyone who donated - we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping such an important cause, which will help children like Ada in the future."
